Hi everyone; today I want to share my
opinions about our task in EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY class "Creating a
digital poster." At the beginning, our teacher offered us two options for
this task: creating an online poster by imagining a book we had read, or
creating a magazine cover. I decided to work on creating a digital movie poster
about my favourite book, "Shantaram," written by Gregory David
Roberts in 2003.
I have travelled to India many times in
my life, and I can say that this book changed a lot in my mind about the
world's most interesting country. At first, I always found India too crowded,
too polluted, and people too rude and disrespectful. But after reading
"Shantaram," I learned a lot about the culture and how people behave
differently there.
I used CANVA, a tool that we can use for
many beneficial and creative works. I was surprised to discover that there is a
drama created on Apple TV. I decided to use the stars of the movie in my
poster. I used the monument of India called "India Gate," which has a
meaning of new beginnings, new starts, and hope for the people of India. The
process was easy after my idea was clear, and I chose my topic. I added real
pictures of stars taken on the scenes of the drama. Canva enabled me to make an
order while embedding pictures on the posters. I was able to choose which
character would be fronted and which would be beyond. I was also able to make
changes in picture transparency, which highlights the character I wanted to.
I also embedded a map of Australia and
India with the idea of the book taking place on the centre of the poster. I
also put a quote from the book, which is pretty good and attracts people to the
book. Canva has a lot of options for writing as well. You can choose and design
your writing character and colour them to highlight. I added the pictures, map,
and flag as .PNG format, which is also very user-friendly.
Finally, I can say that I really liked
this task and I will absolutely offer it to my students in the future. They can
make many presentations similar to our task. Here is my poster, I hope you
enjoy it
